Hello from Gina's couch. Currently listening to Gina and Dave Boss placing bets on who will win the Dallas/Denver football game. Kooks.
It's finally cooled off in our part of the country...jacket weather is here! We had handlebar brunch today (sorry Tubbs and Ztown) and it was perfect. Last night consisted of Apples to Apples and Iron Chef and the Boss Man killed it every time.
Now that Autumn is here we have begun talk of our next travels, with San Fransisco at the top of the list. Though home is what grounds us, it's seeing what's on the road that keeps our youth from burning up. Every time this season rolls around, I'm hit wit a wave of nostalgia...remembering what it felt like to grow into my own skin. It's comforting the way that happiness now sometimes comes in the form of quietness, or a phone call from a friend whose life is unparalleled with mine aside from the feelings we've shared or still do. State lines being the only thing that truly divide us.
(Nate, right now everyone is talking about how cool you are and you are saying "I don't get why I'm so odd...I'm just me!" So funny and awesome.)
Anyways, all is well, laughter all around. I hope you all go to pumpkin patches soon.
Love,
A

Laide here, updating with photos at last. Sadly, the Walgreens lady tore my negatives in half and a lot of my pictures got destroyed, all from the end of the trip.

View of a street in New Orleans, complete with horse carriages and deep South greenery.

Self timed, with the camera poised underneath a cannon statue.

A boat called the Natchez!! We sat in this spot for about an hour taking photos and talking about the mysteries of the city.

...proof

A shot of the hotel/shops by the waterfront.

I don't know if it's my skillz or the subjects but this one is great.

N'awlins is filled with shops that house everything from hot sauce to alligator heads to shot glasses to voodoo dolls to skeleton figurines...you name it.

Street corner advice is free...

life partner.

"I hate these stupid self-timer photos."
"Fine, don't be in this one."
"Yeah right!!!! I'm in the middle!"

Fun house mirror in a bathroom off the Natchez.

When grassy fields begin to submerge into swamps.

I just wanted to get my fortune told.

Cafe Bamboo. Those two suckers went back for breakfast the next day.
I only have time for a photo update...more to come soon...I miss the road but appreciate the midwest, especially as summer begins to fade into the best season of all...
hope on the horizon.

where is everyone? where am i?
after roaming for two weeks my body is left restless, just like the letters scripted across his knuckles. get me out of H E R E. oh wait, the exclamation key doesn't work. my other half is two hundred miles from my heart. can we rekindle and drift again? we'll get some coffee and breakfast at fido, swim under the blistering texan sun, spend dinnertime with tula and sean after stopping at dino world/olde general store, and end the night at the moontower? if we close our eyes tight enough and think about it hard enough maybe we can gallivant away from the sunless, gray city and into our dreams holding hands. i'll meet ya there, and when we get home i'll have dinner ready and the blender waiting to make some daquiries.
she says, "we were all once tumble weeds knotted inside our own bodies rolling, if not in circles, across a seeming infinity..."
JUST WATCH IT. W...A...R...M...
